The e-commerce giant announced a list of 20 places that could become home to its second headquarters. The process has garnered the kind of enthusiasm normally reserved for bids to host the Olympics.
The list released Thursday leaned toward cities in the Midwest and on the East Coast, and away from the tech-saturated hubs of the West Coast.
The automaker, long absent from the city proper, will create a hub there for work on self-driving and electric cars.
