The Port of Savannah handled more than 4 million twenty-foot equivalent container units (TEUs) last year for the first time ever – an increase of 11 percent over 2016.

The Georgia Ports Authority’s executive director called the record an important milestone for the agency.

 “These numbers clearly show that Georgia has the fastest growing and most critical port in the Southeast,” Griff Lynch said.
